a Ban of TEXTILES in local landfills is nigh.
EPR programs will be coming down the pipes in the next two to three years.
Changes to regulations and policies that impact the textile industry do not have to be negatively disrupting for anyone.
Leverage CAMP can help you understand the upcoming changes and the associated risks and implications for your business.
At Leverage CAMP 2015, participants were excited to step outside their own initiatives and organizations to cooperate in the creation of greater impact. When asked what inspired them most they reported,
“Hearing that textile people want to work together”
“The expansion of my network in a targeted manner; the ability to share successful case studies from our work that may benefit others”
“There were so many people! I'm inspired by how many are interested in environmental impact”
“It was really awesome to meet so many like minded individuals and see their desire to move forward with more responsibility…”
The Leverage Camp identified numerous pressing issues within the textile industry and the importance of creating a convening body that can properly address them. The Leverage Lab COLLABORATIVE is the next step in continuing this cross-sector cooperation, wherein we will work together to create this convening body and determine how it will address the identified issues.
LEVERAGE CAMP 2017
We pulled together over 25 different organizations to learn and advise policymakers on any upcoming policy changes and developed a white paper surrounding this topic. The paper is titled: Reducing Apparel waste to Disposal: An industry perspective. In it, we've mapped out the stocks and flows and have pointed directly at the challenges and potential opportunities and now we'd like to share with YOU what we've learned.
The ground is fertile for change. A coalition of the willing has gathered through the 2016/17 Leverage Lab and established shared ownership over the problem of apparel waste. We have mapped how and where the textiles industry generates waste and established where the leverage points are for waste reduction and diversion. We’ve got the tools and skills to effect real change. Are you ready to be part of the solution? There are three opportunities to get involved from here:
2018 Leverage Lab COLLABORATIVE -- a six-month program for industry stakeholders ready to collaboratively tackle the issue of textiles waste. Building on the momentum of last year’s COLLABORATIVE, this year work to address the challenge that there are no sustainable end markets for apparel waste. We will look to where collaborative industry participation can assist.
2018 Peer Mentorship Exchange -- a one-year facilitated peer support co-hort. PME allows participants to raise the bar by challenging each other to create and implement goals, brainstorm ideas, and support each other with total honesty, respect and compassion.
CSR and Sustainability Consulting -- custom solutions for how your organization can develop a sustainability plan and engage its employees around it.
Leverage CAMP 2015
